College Baseball Recruiting Rankings – The Debate Goes on Every Year

Let all the debates begin. Each and every year fans disagree on the best college baseball recruiting rankings and who actually had the best recruiting class. Each fan usually favors their own team to some degree, but even unbiased fans have trouble agreeing on who’s recruiting class was actually the best. Even the experts usually can’t agree.

The college baseball recruiting rankings will vary somewhat each and every year, but you will typically see these power house teams near the top:

1. Arizona State

2. Oregon

3. Cal State Fullerton

4. Rice

5. USC

6. LSU

7. Georgia

8. Arizona

9. UNC

10. Stanford

These power house schools (along with a few others) get the best players coming out of high school each and every year. That’s why they continue to have winning programs year in and year out. These schools are signing the best of the best or elite level players who have the right athleticism, talent and skills to play at the top levels of college baseball.

Let’s be honest, coaching is vital to having a great program, but you must have great talent to win consistently. Good coaches are also good recruiters and the success they have tends to bring in more and more great talent. That’s why the list of teams at the top of the college baseball recruiting rankings may move around each year, but the same teams normally make the list.

Are you (or someone you know) trying to make it to the next level of baseball and become a part of someone’s recruiting class next year or in the years to come? If you are, you need to put yourself in a position to be recruited. For elite level players, recruitment will happen automatically. For everyone else, you need to gain an advantage by marketing and promoting yourself to coaches.

Remember, college baseball is played at all division levels. Coaches need quality players from the junior college level all the way up to the elite Division I schools listed above. If you have the baseball talent and skills to play at their level of play, coaches will love to hear from you! Develop your own plan for making direct contact with coaches.

The college baseball recruiting rankings are fun to look at and second guess each year. However, if you are looking to be part of a future recruiting class, begin making contact with coaches no later than your junior season in high school. The opportunities are out there and waiting for you!
